Supporting Long-Term Archaeological Research in Southern Romania Chalcolithic Sites Using Multi-Platform UAV Mapping

Spatial data play a crucial role in archaeological research, and orthophotos, digital elevation models, 3D models are frequently used for the mapping, documentation, monitoring of sites. Thanks to availability compact low-cost uncrewed airborne vehicles, use UAV-based photogrammetry matured this field over past two decades. More recently, systems also available that allow recording thermal data, multispectral laser scanning. In article, various platforms sensors applied at Chalcolithic sites Mosti?tea Basin Danube Valley (Southern Romania). By analysing performance resulting insight is given into selection appropriate system right application. This analysis requires thorough knowledge acquisition processing, as well.
